The future of Australian construction relies on a tight link between industry and education. We recently took part in a university industry event to help bridge that gap. As steel framing becomes a core part of the building curriculum, we’re ensuring students and educators have access to the same systems they’ll use on-site.
Practical Learning with TRUECORE® Steel
For this initiative, we supplied light gauge steel frames manufactured in-house at Manuframe. These frames use high-quality TRUECORE® steel from BlueScope, giving students a chance to work with the gold standard of modern building materials.
Our team worked directly with teaching staff to demonstrate correct assembly methods. By providing these materials, we’re helping the university deliver practical, job-ready learning that reflects current industry standards.
Hands-On Expertise
The session, led by Adam Wehlow, allowed educators to gain first hand experience with modern framing systems. It’s one thing to read about steel in a textbook, but it’s another to handle the frames and understand the precision of the assembly.
These sessions ensure that lecturers are well-equipped to pass on real-world knowledge to the next generation of builders, designers, and project managers.
Investing in the Next Generation
Collaborating with education providers is about more than just a demonstration. It’s about preparing students for the realities of modern construction. By introducing light gauge steel framing early in their training, we’re helping future professionals enter the workforce with confidence and technical skill.
We’re proud to support initiatives that invest in innovation and Australian-made steel. Helping students learn with the systems used on contemporary residential and commercial sites today strengthens the entire industry for tomorrow.
